...General details
This outstanding Guest House, lying on the most favourable site in
Whiting Bay was built in 1904 by a seafaring captain as a quiet
retreat in Scotland from his frequent trips to Argentina. Hence its
name.
With its 5 bedrooms, the Guest House is well equipped to meet the
modern travellers accommodation requirements. It overlooks Holy
Island, an island where Buddhist monks keep a retreat, the Ayrshire
Coast and, of course, the Firth of Clyde.
Our house is ideally situated for your active vacation (playing
golf, climbing mountains, riding horses, touring on bikes,
water sports, etc) as
well as for a quieter and restoring holiday (easy walking resting
with books and music, island live, shopping, good food and drinks).
Arran (and the Argentine) is an ideal all-year destination.
The owners, Assya and Bruno Baumgärtner, come originally from
Switzerland. We are especially proud that we could match Scottish
and Swiss lifestyle to offer all our guests a unique experience on
the Isle of Arran.
The Argentine Guest House is a completely non-smoking house. This is
equally true for the public rooms as for the bedrooms.
